What is Arthritis / Osteoarthritis?

Arthritis is a broad term referring to inflammation and stiffness of the joints. Osteoarthritis, specifically, is the most common type of arthritis and is characterized by the degeneration of joint cartilage and the underlying bone. It typically occurs as a result of aging, wear and tear on the joints, or joint injuries. Osteoarthritis causes pain, stiffness, swelling, and reduced mobility in the affected joints. Treatment focuses on pain management, physical therapy, lifestyle modifications, and in severe cases, surgical interventions like joint replacement.
